Pressley Henningsen
Pressley Henningsen is an Iowa native and lifelong resident of the Hawkeye State. Pressley was born in Davenport, Iowa and attended the University of Iowa for both undergraduate studies and law school. Pressley and his wife, Jill, are parents of two boys, Spencer and Haven. Most of Pressley's community involvement revolves around his two sons, such as coaching their baseball team and volunteering at their school. Pressley has also given his time to coaching middle school and high school mock trial as well as youth wrestling. In his free time, Pressley enjoys horseback riding with his family.

As an Iowa personal injury lawyer, Pressley has devoted his legal practice to helping Iowans who have suffered serious injury or the loss of a loved one. Having developed a successful litigation practice at a previous law firm, Pressley joined Riccolo & Semelroth as a shareholder in 2005. He serves as Chair of the 2006-2007 Continuing Legal Education Committee of the Iowa Trial Lawyers Association and speaks around the state at educational seminars for fellow lawyers. Also in 2006, Pressley became one of only 20 Iowa attorneys inducted into the national Million Dollar Advocates Forum for verdicts and settlements in excess of a million dollars.

Pressley is the past president of the Jackson County Bar Association and served as the Chair of the Jackson County Committee to Prevent Domestic Violence. In 1998, Pressley received the Golden Seal Award from the Iowa Coalition Against Domestic Violence for his volunteer work representing victims of domestic violence.

Pressley is an Iowa nursing home abuse lawyer. He spends a large amount of his time on Iowa nursing home negligence and neglect cases involving personal injury and wrongful death of Iowa residents. He is a member of the American Association for Justice and its Nursing Home Litigation Group, a practice area that is particularly important to him (click here to read an article about one of his nursing home cases). As a lawyer and an advocate, Pressley has litigated nursing home negligence and abuse cases all across Iowa, from Clinton, Davenport, Burlington, Iowa City, Cedar Rapids to Sioux City and several places in between. Because of his connection to nursing home negligence lawyers in other states, Pressley receives referrals from many different jurisdictions and he can also help you find the right nursing home attorney for your out-of-state claim. Generally speaking, most Iowa nursing home negligence cases, whether it be due to untreated pressure ulcers (bed sores), falls, improper restraints or medications, or some other type of negligence or abuse, which occurs in Iowa must be brought in Iowa. Because many Iowa nursing home cases involve the wrongful death of the resident, many of Pressley's nursing home clients, the surviving children, actually live in other states, including Illinois, Florida, Arizona, Georgia, Nebraska and other locations which causes no problems in today's modern world. Bringing an end to nursing home negligence and abuse is an important mission of Pressley's law practice.

Having owned motorcycles nearly all of his life, Pressley also brings personal experience to his motorcycle accident personal injury and wrongful death cases (click here for an article about one his motorcycle accident cases). A biker attorney must understand motorcycles. From representing professional racers to professional bike builders, Pressley's clients appreciate his working knowledge of motorcycles and the issues related to motorcycle accidents. Being a motorcycle accident lawyer in Iowa means you need to understand laws that regulate motorcycles as well as the potential Iowa jurors and their opinions of motorcycle accident cases. A motorcycle accident lawyer in Iowa needs to know the working functions of a motorcycle and how to properly handle a motorcycle in an emergency situation. Given his background and his working relationships with the right motorcycle experts, Pressley has been fortunate to represent many fellow bikers--now, if he can just convince his wife that bikes are not any more dangerous than horses he'll have it made.

In addition, Pressley has represented a large trucking company, as well as worked on dozens of Iowa semi crash cases, and therefore understands the trucking industry and the issues related to a tractor-trailer accident. An Iowa truck accident lawyer must understand semi accidents and how they relate to personal injury and wrongful deaths in Iowa. Thankfully, Iowa has a recent law regarding emergency personnel because of the hard work of one of Pressley's clients after he was severely injured by a tractor-trailer that lost control in winter driving conditions (click here for an article about this new law). A tractor- trailer negligence attorney needs to be familiar with the mechanics of a big rig and the physics involved when a semi causes a wrongful death or serious injury. For instance, knowing how a tachograph works or knowing the difference between a "jack-knife" and a "trailer swing" case may have a direct impact on how you investigate and handle a truck accident case. In addition, an Iowa truck negligence lawyer must be familiar with the federal regulations that apply to over the road truckers and their semis, such as log books, equipment requirements, testing, extreme driving conditions, and so on. Truckers are a great part of the fabric of our American life; however, because these huge rigs run down our highways right along side our much smaller cars and trucks, it only takes one bad mistake from one trucker to cause a horrific accident.

Pressley, as well as his firm, also take on complex tort litigation in Iowa, such as amusement park accidents, water park and water slide negligence cases, products liability, and drowning cases (click here for an article about one of Pressley's complex cases). Pressley believes it is important to tackle tough Iowa personal injury and wrongful death cases and to let our community, our jurors, have a say in what is right or wrong.
